15-year-old Ali is missing. The police are involved, the entire school are searching.
What exactly do the parents know? Why do the school computers keep crashing?....and who is Umi, the social media phenomenon and the girl everyone wants to be?

Offline is a thriller that talks about freedom of information and our identity. Online you can be whoever you want to be - if you're not satisfied with your life, create a new one. But what happens when it all gets out of control?

Team

Kristina Brändén Whitaker - Director

tinalitenKristina is GEST's Executive Artistic Director, director and an actress with extensive experience in theatre, television and film both in Sweden and internationally. Most recently she directed the GESTs production of YEN in 2015 that was a huge success.
Her playwright debut Expectations, in which she also played Klara, won the Fringe Award for Outstanding Theatre at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2010.
Kristina is from Gothenburg but spend 13 years in London where she trained as an actress at the prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama. She has worked as an actress in various theatres in both the UK and Sweden. Her Television and film credits includes; the Swedish-Danish TV series Bron (The Bridge) for SVT, the international IFTA winning feature film As If I am Not There(Stella Nova Films/Wideey Films), Steven Spielberg's Band of Brothers, Peter Birro's SVT drama's Viva Hate and How Soon is Now (Upp till Kamp) and SVT's award winning Sanningen om Marika. In GEST's previous productions she has acted in The Events, Belongings, My Romantic History, Cock, Expectations, Contractions, After The End and After Miss Julie.

 

Elizabeth Neale - Actor

Elizabeth has worked for GEST as the Assistant Director for Constellations, One Day When We Were Young and Yen, and as Assistant Stage Manager for The Woman in Black, as well as being Project Manager for GEST's Creative Learning Department. She is originally from London, where she worked as an actress, collaborating with Matthew's Yard Theatre Company and Lantern Theatre Company, and as a film editor, namely alongside Polaris Media and Talking Shadow Productions. She moved to Gothenburg in 2014 and has most recently worked with GEST on their spring production of The Events.

James Hogg - Actor

james HoggJames trained as an actor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. He has been working for ten years, including work in London's West End (The Misanthrope) and with the National Theatre (A Midsummer Night's Dream. Since moving to Gothenburg, James has been working extensively as a voice over artist, including work for the Discovery Channel (Unti I Besunti, Blue Collar Criminals) and for computer games (Vermintide, War of the Vikings).
